๐ŸŽ Plan your holidays and promotions using Recast

Recast has three ways to help you plan the timing and run-up to your holidays and promotions:

  1. The Spike summary, which shows the performance of your past holidays/promotions, and helps you estimate the effect of the promotion or holiday, above and beyond what your marketing spend caused during this time. For promotions, we can use this view to estimate whether the promotion increased sales or merely moved them around by cannibalizing sales before and after the promotional period.
  1. In the forecaster, you can add, subtract, or edit the dates of spikes. See How to add spikes. This will estimate the impact of future spikes on your dependent variable. If there is a spike that positively affects your dependant variable, consider planning a promotion for this date.
  2. In the optimizer, you can also edit the dates of future spikes. The optimizer will then find the optimal mix and timing of spend, taking into account the presence or absence of the holiday / promotion.
