The Configuration page is a repository of your model priors. Your model priors are the benchmark data on channel ROI, Intercept, Spikes and time shifts you give your customer success team during your initial model configuration. Your Recast model is trained to use your priors as an anchor (keeping in mind it's a ballpark estimate) to give you accurate results. Using this page you will be able to see your model priors and request to change them.
Use the Configuration page:
-
Log in to Recast
-
Navigate to the Insights dash
-
Select Configuration from the left-hand menu
-
View each of your priors for the intercept, channel ROI, channel shifts, and channel linkings of your model and all your spikes and subchannels.
-
If you want to change your priors or add or remove a spike, click the button labelled “Request a configuration change” to email support@getrecast.
-
Include which priors you want to change and the values of the new priors. If your want to add or remove a spike include the spike label and date.
What is configuration used for?
Configuration is how we tune your model to your data. By giving it some benchmark values, the model can learn the patterns in your data more accurately.
What are priors?
The priors are the range of values the model explores as possible explanations for data. Your model building team will establish priors using context from your business as you go through the Recast model-building process.
When should I change channel configuration?
If you think one of your channels has changed its performance or has longer or shorter time shifts than initially understood, you may consider changing your model configuration to better train your model to the data. This will allow you to experiment, test your hypotheses and validate your results. Learn more about How to improve your model.
